Moisture balance is an instrument used for the determination of the moisture content of a sample. It consists of an infrared weighing and heating unit.
MUNRO Laboratory moisture balances series suitable for a wide range of application. These balances are target to determine the moisture parentage at the sample when the operative principle is based on evaporation and precise weight. The balance will weight and heat the sample which will cause the water to evaporate and the sample mass will lose some weight. The balance has an automatic weight for each period of time (adjustable) and automatically declares the moisture percentages at the sample.
How does a Moisture Balance work?
.A Moisture Balance performs moisture analysis by using the ‘loss on drying’ (LOD) method. This is the most common method for moisture analysis.
Application:
Product Quality Assurance
Raw material checkup
Develop and manufacturing process
Determine moisture percentage at food Such as: wheat, corn, butter, milk, bread etc.
Determine moisture percentage at powder and drugs
Determine moisture percentage at sand for the needs of plumbing and structure leaks
The moisture balance will be a convenient and useful substitute rather than weight the sample, dry it in the oven and weight again, finally calculate the results independently.
